After an extensive and successful history in the multifaceted world of finance, I am delighted to finally have the privilege of serving and knowing my clients on an individual basis with my bookkeeper and Accounting services. Believe it or not, numbers are thrilling. But far more gratifying are the realized [financial] dreams of my clients. This produces satisfaction of a whole other sort.
Since my early days as an Accounts Payable Clerk I’ve fostered the dream of owning and operating my own private accounting and bookkeeping firm. Over 30 years later, following a fulfilling career as Chief Financial Officer, my dream is realized. Now, I have the pleasure of helping others realize their dreams. Employee Tax Relief!
Although the 2% reduction in the Employee Social Security tax expired at the end of 2011. It is expected to be reinstated retroactively to January 1st for 2012.
Supplemental Private Unemployment Insurance is taxable for 2011!
If you have a private insurance policy that supplements the state unemployment payments the payments from your private insurance are taxable. If you received private unemployment insurance totally over $600 for the year you must be given a 1099 misc from them and report it on your Income Tax Return.
IRS Requires Competency Exams for Tax Preparer's!
In an effort to protect the taxpayers all paid tax preparers who are not a CPA, or Enrolled Agent are now required to pass a competency exam. The hope is to weed out the bad apples so to speak and clean up the tax preparer profession. Some paid preparers are being given until the end of 2012 to pass the RTRP (Registered Tax Return Preparer) exam. Ruehle Bookkeeping & Accounting Services is preparing for the exam now, if your paid preparer isn't shouldn't you ask why? If they don't plan on taking it at all do you really want to work with them?
